Every bank is here to make money. I do transfer money through SBI and ICICI , didn't find any difference as far as rates are concerned. Services at ICICI are much better than Sarkari SBI. At least you can do many things with ICICI by sitting here rather than SBI.
Switching is not a good option, What you gonna do if other bank also doing with you the same thing. I would suggest complain it with RBI whatever you are not satisfied with.

There is a difference between H1B Visa/AP and I797/EAD.
The first one is a travel document. That is all it is good for.
The second one is for employability proof. That is all this one is good for.
Each one has some restrictions. As long as you are not violating any of the provisions under which you were issued a visa/AP/I797/EAD, they will be good.
So... if you are working on a H1 (I797), going out of the country and returning by using AP will not make you lose your H1 as long as you continue to work full time for the sponsoring company.
As far as the company is concerned, your work eligibility status is based on what you provide to them when you fill out the I9 form.

On March 30 I had a soft LUD on my 485 and then on Apr9 my attorney recd an RFE.in my case the RFE went only to the attorney.
Hi all,
Due to system glitches, cud a soft LUD mean that it cud still have triggered an RFE to the attorney?
Also, when therez an RFE will the mail just go to the attny or to the applicant as well (if the applicant has signed G-28)?
Bottomline, is it a good idea to check with the attny if there were any RFEs?

So far from the poll results I see that most of us are here by choice ( though we are put thru GC waits). no matter what we will try to stay here until we reach our personal breaking point which would tigger us to look at alternatives.
Someone here asked what independence and freedom has to do with the Quit America thing. Most of the immigrant community feels that they are not given access to lot of things due to restrictions in their visas and unpredictable GC process. And the inconvenience and trouble their familes go through. With that in prespective I am thinking that we have lost atleast some of our freedom and independence.
This reason for this poll is to also make people think .

But aren't there sufficient applications received in July-Aug 2007 to use up all the numbers ?!? That's the loophole in your analysis. As per official reports, I believe close to 300k applications were received in those two months for AOS, true ?!?
I think it's just a game played by DHS and don't see any other reason to it. If any, the backlog center cases that were approved in Aug/Sep/Oct of 2007 are the only ones who couldn't apply in last year fiasco. But then since EB2 dates have come to Jun 2004 last month, many of those late approved filers may have already filed for their 485s leaving only those folks whose PDs are between June 2004 and May 2006 ... a guesstimate on this number might be around few hundreds at the most, possible ?!?

Got a mails from USCIS that both my case and my spouse's case are approved and card will arrive shortly. However the online status still says 'Pending'.
Is this common and will the online status change in a couple of days?

Not true...
In the EB base, only 1 GC is counted for all family members. How can it count more than one if it is a derivative of an employment visa? It might count against the Family base even though primary applicant is EB-based. Not the other way around.

Here is a suggestion for you:
1) Book a round trip ticket for your wife to fly back immediately. Meanwhile, take an appointment for your wife with a local USCIS cert civil surgeon to take the TB test/vaccine. Take it wherever you can get it -near or far.
2) Get lawyer to draft the RFE response. Submit the doc's report to lawyer as soon as you get it. (most surgeons will give it in a day or two after checking the bump.)
This whole process should be done in less than a week if you can prepare everything else before your wife gets here.
3) Wife flies back and continues with rest of vacation with kids. You can have your Euro vacation at the end too! :)
Downside: Twins will have to be away from Mom for a week.
Upside: Monetary Losses and life disruption cut as short as possible.

I believe once you use your AP for travel , you automatically comes EAD. If you are working for same employer with H1, then employer may have to inform uscis above status change (no big deal . i don't know if all employers are doing that) i don't think you can transfer your H1 after travelling on your AP. If you want to be in H1 status again all you have to do is leave country , get H1 stamped if expired and come back again. You will be in H1 status.

I feel this is too small a specimen to predict anything but so far about 25% are Jun 2003 or older...
Below is purely my speculation!
Assuming there are 400k applications pending (may be a bad assumption) > so about 100k with PD's Jun 2003 or less...
10k per year allotted so 10 years to reach June 2003 :confused:

Masti_guy - Don't worry about not having an MS. If people with MS move out of the queue the queue will autmatically move forward. There are a number of MS engineers working in EB3 positions especially the one who have never changed employers after they got out of school..

But a co-worker of mine wants to travel on AP. After coming back, he will join my company (right now he is a contractor) as a perm employee on H1. Is it possible and allowed? Can he transfer H1 after using AP?
Our company attorney confirmed that his H1B will remain valid even after using AP. But she is not sure about transfer. I will post her reply once she gets back to him. But in meantime, if anyone has any idea about this, please share.

However, I have not read any experience of anyone who came back on AP and then filed for an H1 transfer.
