Yes, we are not a third world country. Thats why we still see people like Harshad Mehta and Abdul karim Telgi. Both stock market and stamp paper, backbone of indian economy could be easily exploited by two individuals.
We are still manipulating the stock market. From 3000 to 21,000. Every sadhus, saint, soothsayers, magician, poojari's, astrologers predicting sensex to touch 35,000 by this year end. Even one guy predicted, 50,000 points in 2010.
I am just telling the fact. Look at TOI and other online newpapers economic section. Read the past year news.
Side note: stable oil(price) is the backbone of world economy. We know who manipulates this oil market and who gains out of it? Is it not a few corporations? But tell me honestly how many countries are affected by this inflated oil price.

The mistaken notion "GC = freedom" seems so pervasive that I am also tempted to take a whack at this much maligned equation. Lot of anguish can be spared by keeping our expectation from this 3" X 2" plastic somewhat grounded in reality. There is no denying that having GC makes life easier than before, specifically by opening up more job/career opportunities. But these have nothing to do with the constitutional freedom that you presumably allude to with your Statue of Liberty analogy (I should say though, as a metaphor this quote of your colleague is pretty lame). That is correct. Since H1-B petition is filed by employer, it can only be legally challenged by the employer only. Employee is beneficiary and therefore has very limited legal rights to challenge even if petition is denied.

We may be angry, but let us not use bad word for him. He is doing his job and earning his bread and butter! I have heard him using very strong language against government and administration - I don't think he is against anything but he has to do certain things to maintain the popularity of his show among middle class Americans (after all it is all business!).

Well said and I agree. USCIS can be more transparent and be clear. They can always tell us that it would take X years and people can plan better and decide accordingly. Why cant they do it is beyond my reasoning. Frustrating part is they wont do that! Everyone makes alternate plans and has a threshold for waiting. I guess this is what nitinboston was trying to say that dont be obsessed about it. Many people took it wrongly and started called names which just shows immaturity. Anyways, GC or no GC one should live happily wherever that be :-)

Moreover when the DOL audits the employer on the basis of a complaint they don't give out the name of the person filing the complaint. They go to the employer's place of employment and tell him to show all the records for all the employees for the last five (I guess) years and if they determine abuse then everybody who was not paid gets his wages.

Assuming you decide to persue MBA from a good university instead of online. What kind of investment of time and money are you looking at? Is it really worth the investment when you are already in your 30's? Is is worth spending the time and money on a MBA? If you spend the same time/money on a business opportunity wouldn't that be better in the longer run? Is it practical to start a business when you are in the 7th/8th/9th year of H1b with no idea if/when you will get GC? Is it a safer bet to invest in education?
For PMP I think, you need to take some courses, I had taken some courses at Berkeley Online on project management, these courses count towards PMP.
They also have in class courses, if you are interested.
Better to do something than nothing.

Can this be supported by the W2 of last financial year [Not the paycheck].
