We are not planning on asking members to pay immediately. It is a form of commitment from our members to the amount they are giong to donate.
Once we get an expert advise on how to channelize these funds to the IV core team, we will request everyone who pledged to pay out.
Please hold off. We need to figure out how this part of the drive will be structured in terms of reimbursement for the Core members.

my I-485 was pending from 2001 and then my case was transfered to NBC I had an interview and then I got the I-797 Welcome Notice welcoming me as a permanent resident of the United States and it said on the notice you will get your green card in the mail in about 3 weeks and then checked my online status it said we ordered the card for production
ok at this point everything is looking good
and then after 5 days check my status online
found the following :

Any updates?
I checked my former approved H1Bs and found:
1) The Sept. 2000 approved H1B with LUD of June 2007
2) The Feb.2003 approved H1B with LUD 0f April 2006
For both cases, it seems the status is the same as when it was approved in Sept. 2000 and Feb. 2003, nothing new. Maybe these are automatic updates by the computer system.

One thing I have noticed, if you want to transfer money and if the dollar value is coming down a few cents, they hold on to the transfer and transfer the money after 10 to 12 days, this is irritating if you have some emergency out there and want to transfer money fast.

Twice talked to IO :- First time response.. we are working on your case..
second response :- As per our info on my screen, it is not yet assigned to IO and neither pre-adjudicated. One person says one thing and another says another thing. I do not know what screen they are looking and how they are pulling info. What is the point of puting CSR if they have half baked info or worse no info on where the case is.
Have infopass appt late next week. Guess another garbage collecton day..:-)

IV is already not member friendly. With 25,000 members, raising 30,000 is getting so difficult. Why so? I once posed the question and moderators conveniently deleted it.

why so? ask yourself. read your own comments. and let us all know how you have helped the process of ending YOUR retrogression.

ultimately it comes to this: if 25,000 members show no interest in contributing in a fund drive (barring the minuscule 500 who did), what's the point in being "friendly". hey- iv is you and me. there is nothing else. no building, assets, stocks. I or aman or pappu or logiclife and every other core member and iv leader are just like you. we have jobs and families to take care of. we are afflicted by immigration retrogression- like you.
we have put in time, money and effort at great cost to our personal lives. i wish i could "like you" to that one too.
if "members" are willing to make this their organization their own- if there is to be this sense of involvement and ownership, then we will succeed. if not, if the attitude for the most is going to be "why should i" and "nope i am not contributing" and "how dare you ask" and "i have free speech" and "why doesn't iv do xyz for me" and "why should logiclife use this and that tenor" and "why did abc say def to me" and "i demand respect" and the best "these are my 2c but don't ask me to lift a finger to do this- iv should do this" then forget it. won't happen. because that IV you are imagining doing wonders and making miracles is YOU.
let me take this opportunity to thank everyone that participated in the fund drive, joined state chapters, met lawmakers, took initiatives to start state groups, ran the funding threads and contributed in any other way.

We have these 3 bills in House. Thats fine. But what about Senate. There is only 1 bill in Senate. Should we also persuade some senator to place similar bills there ?
