You said that you are from the Midwest, but your profile says that you send your application to Texas. How is that possible, All midwest I-485 applications must have gone to Nebraska Service Center.

When I read the memo, I was more worried about my name check and whether she would check the status of it than about this, as anyhow my dates are not current. After showing the memo, she did offer to check the status.
With all the experience our guys have with USCIS officers and staff, it's hard to belive an IO would be that helpful? But, she's and even the staff at this office is not as bad as others have experienced.

Let US Immigration stop checking and let everyone in.

Dude, i dont even know who GCStatus is. If you want i can give my IP address. Dont spread false news here, saying that GCStatus and I are the same and we are sending message from Same Machine. Here is my IP Address 192.168.1.2 and I live in Pittsburgh. If you want, I can give you my I-485 receipt number for you to verify that Iam not GCStatus. If you want to talk to me, let me know, I will give my phone number. Now dont tell me, We are same person but different voice. lol... ( FYI.. that was a joke ).

Thanks for your suggestion. But the problem is its not that simple. Here is why. If the same individual create multiple IDs on IV and post using multiple IDs, one for posting derogatory comments and others that are not derogatory, we can keep mum to a point, but then it just gets too frustrating. Like in this case, madhuvj and GCStatus is the same person posting from the same machine but posting as if you are two different individuals. Hence my posts. Please stop this and email/pm us your phone number and we will start the transition process. We are sure you will do a better job than us.
You see, just like everyone else, we also have limited number of hours in a day. We can either spend our time looking at who is using multiple forum ids to post similar messages creating a false impression for other forum visitor, like the one projected in 'if i can be blunt' thread, or we can spend our time doing better things. Your actions are not helping anyone including yourself. Hope you understand.

Regarding a HIGH VISIBILITY Campaign

In the case of admin fix, we need to focus on those few who can positively act on our request. In this case, those might be Hillary Clinton, Janet Napolitano, USCIS acting director etc. In the case of an admin fix a highly talented, politically skilled, IV delegation should work as the front end of this effort. While all others in the community should raise funds to support this delegation and their activities. We can form regional groups to raise funds on behalf of IV. Many of you can do that. Form groups of 5 at each region and try to arrange an Indian/Chinese movie show in your local theatre for raising funds. You can come up with better ideas than this for raising funds. This is just an idea came to my mind from my limited knowledge.

Very sorry to know about the nanny situation. I would not recommend taking any legal action on that nanny because you are not supposed to hire her in the first place. So if you do complain about her, it is going to back fire on you, saying how did you hire her in the first place.
It is really horrible how a person can have heart to beat a small baby. Also she is not supposed to work on a tourist visa, if someone complains she can be deported.
I would suggest the following, just terminate her asap and try to use some local nanny who has proper papers to work. (since any way you are paying the same amount).
If you had hired someone who had proper papers, and if they had committed this , i am very sure you can take them up legally and make sure they do not do this again to someone else. But in this case it is a bit complex as you too may get in to trouble for hiring her.

Most letters should reach in time, make sure you ask for return reciept / signature for receipt - or something similar while mailing the letters at the USPS.
Also, letters to the white house take way longer because of security process - so Bush may read the letter the last, just 2 cents!

pappu, pls let me know, if u received the fund. Also, one small suggestion, we can just maintain a small excel sheet, to just see who (just the user id and not the actual name) contributed and how much money they contributed just in this campaign. Cos, I hate to say this, I just dont want to be around those who want to have a free ride from all the hard work that IV group is putting in. Please everyone please donate. If you are reading this post, if you have not contributed earlier, please contribute. Dont you want IV to become strong financially when fighting this tough case. They need all the help they can get. As someone who is dealing with a screwed up legal immigration system, I find it funny when the "Anti-Illegal Immigration" folks talk about following to the law.
Clean up the legal immigration system first and then round up and deport all the folks who don't follow the law.
I am fine with deporting this woman but please treat her with dignity as a human first.

PS - BTW, I support the Death penalty but even for those on Death row, we should treat them with basic human dignity.
Also, I find it funny, when folks who have paid for labor substitution talk about Illegals getting better deals.

The efforts that the core team puts into this, as also those of other active members of the community, and the recent events should provide a good grounding in IV's mission, intentions, and leadership.
You have all the rights to question, for sure, but I would PM one of the moderators/core team. If my concerns aren't suitably addressed, I would feel free to post on the forum.
