I am waiting for someone from IV core to endorse the idea.

I think that the IV core is aware of this campaign. They are not against it, as far as I understand, though obviously, there is no direct endorsement from them either.
I think this is a great idea to get media attention - something different and unique, and media always loves these things. The only thing that can doom it to failure is lack of enough numbers.
If we go and tell a journalist about this campaign, the first question we will be asked is, "how many flowers are you talking about?" and if our answer would 50 or 100, then the story dies right there. 250,000 affected skilled immigrants and only 100 of them are enthu enough to send flowers - well that's no story :rolleyes:.
So the only thing I can say is that at worst, this action will do you no harm and you will be out of 30-40 dollars. But at best, this can give us a media spotlight - and I think it is worth it.

Dummgelauft and Saguar, we all respect your opinions and know that you have a very valid reasons to hold on to your opinions. What I was saying is that if we take the majority of the posters who have responded / posted in this thread, we are seeing an overwhelming majoiry who support and /or sympathize with the pregnant girl. We are definitely not going to change our opinions and so are you. so let us stop this argument with a clear awareness that the majority of the posters are siding with the girl regarding the inhumane treatment delivered to her. Thus, as curent processing times are at August 23, 2007, dwhuser case file is yet to be opened. Since file is not yet opened, no one yet knows his/her PD (it is nowhere other than on paper files).
The above part of your submission is not true. If you read the I-485 Adjudicator's Manual, you will find that the file is already opened and input into the system at this stage. Otherwise dwhuser would not have received I-797 Notice of Action.
In theory action on a case should be sequenced by priority date and then received date within the priority date batch. However, nobody knows for sure how USCIS works each case.

For some reason this does not sound right. If there was spillover of 20000+ visas (of course, this was an assumption), have we seen that many approvals? To me the approvals seemed normal, not much.

I salute IV and team involved in all this process right from organizing the rally at San Jose last saturday till resolving this issue. I am sure you are going to get lots of good wishes from all of the people affected by this July bulletin fiasco.

pappu, pls let me know, if u received the fund. Also, one small suggestion, we can just maintain a small excel sheet, to just see who (just the user id and not the actual name) contributed and how much money they contributed just in this campaign. Cos, I hate to say this, I just dont want to be around those who want to have a free ride from all the hard work that IV group is putting in. Please everyone please donate. If you are reading this post, if you have not contributed earlier, please contribute. Dont you want IV to become strong financially when fighting this tough case. They need all the help they can get. I need to add my daughter's last name to I-485 and subsequent AP. Do I still need to have US court order for doing the same once her passport has correct last name ? How much time does the US court order take and what is the cost ?
Please share if anyone have experience adding the last name with USCIS and how long does it take ?
Look for Name Change document in your local county court. This is fairly quick process and one can use court order indicating name change to update name change in passport and all pending applications at USCIS.
You may need new visa stamp indicating new name.

Can we have some tieup with some flower delivering company? Like, for each floer ordered by IV member, some percentage will be donated to IV. But the point is every one from here will order the flowers through them. Any thoughts?
